    Hey Amit,

I was looking for a way to show only @replies to my company and this works great, but for some reason it is showing the username of the person who made the tweet twice.

    It looks like:

    username (username) : searchterm tweet

which version of php and joomla are you using?

  8. February 4, 2009 11:21 pm john brandt says

Looks like it was a PHP problem at my end. Looks like you need PHP5 to be running to make sure this Mod works.

I’m having the same simplepie error on the page I am assigning it to. Joomla 1.5.9. Thanks Amit!

Hey Amit – I take it that this won’t be retrofitted for PHP4 users out there? Sounds like there are several of us who would like to try it if it were!

    Thanks!

jhon and brandt i will see if i can modify it to support php4.

Great module, but it doesn’t seem to work with hashtags (at least for me). For example, if I put “tom” as word to look for, it finds all tweets with “tom” including “#tom”, but if I put “#tom” as word to search for, it doesn’t find any tweets, including ones with #tom hashtag. This seems like an obvious use for the module to automatically follow all tweets that include a specific hashtag. Any thoughts on getting that to work? Thanks.

  14. February 16, 2009 11:33 am Amit Kumar Singh says

@russell yup.. i will be putting the support for that, it is breaking because twitter replaces ‘#’ with ‘%23′ which akTweeter does not.. if you want you can make the temp fix on your install of aktweeter.

  15. February 16, 2009 11:34 am Russell Tripp says

Cool – thanks Amit. Good to know about the ‘%23′.

  16. February 16, 2009 11:47 am Russell Tripp says

Amit – curious, are you planning to extend this module to allow tracking of multiple keywords inside one module?

  17. February 16, 2009 11:55 am Amit Kumar Singh says

no, i think it is better to use more modules, but you can specify multiple keywords in the search term.

Is there table data generated or i do have to wait till deleted twitte ritems not show up in the module view?

Nice module could need some more options like number of twitters and user image display?

  20. May 6, 2009 10:35 am Amit Kumar Singh says

@hypatia their is no table, for now it fetches directly from the twitter rss feed.

Hello, guys! I love the module… you know there’s a “but” coming… but is there any chance that this can be programmed to display only posts from one Twitter account rather than based on keyword? We’d love to use Twitter to keep our homepage current with brief updates of what the jocks at our non-profit radio stations are doing, but we don’t want “stray” tweets from people who might not like the stations, or just might be totally off topic. Any possibility of an account-based, rather than keyword-based option? Thanks for your time! Jeff

Argghhh! I just found out that our sites are hosted on a PHP4 server. Oh, well. Thanks, anyway!

  23. June 3, 2009 2:08 am vadim says

I would love to see this for the older version of joomla is that a possibility ?

Just for those legacy sites that we do not want to fully convert LOL

I needed a twitter mod that would display results of a key word phrase, not just a single work. This did the trick. I went into the default.php file in the tmpl folder to change the number of entries to 20.

Would love if it had a date as well, but you can’t argue with free. Thanks for the mod. Great work.

I just tested this module on my Joomla 1.5.11 installation. It worked smoothly.

    Feature request:

    1. add new parameter of Language, so we can ONLY retrieve Tweets in our native language. Or in several languages (specified by comma separation list).

    2. Only link in new windows/Tab ?

    3. Exclude certain Tweeter users ?

    Thanks.

This mod is great, but is there a way to edit your name so that only the first half of it shows rather then your full name?

  28. August 1, 2009 12:08 am Amit Kumar Singh says

@Nick you can edit the module files to achieve that
